You know that exercise and a good diet is not enough to keep your heart healthy. But what else can you do?

1. Get Moving With Exercise -

The first thing you must emphasize is doing regular exercise, You should at least do exercise five days a week for around 30 minutes a day.  Exercise helps in lowering down the blood pressure and stress levels. No exercise can put you at greater risk for many health problems.

2. Eat healthy fats, NOT Trans fats -

We surely need fats in our diet, saturated, polyunsaturated and unsaturated fats. There is only one fat we don’t need in our body that is Tran’s fat. The Trans fat is known to increase the risk of having heart disease or having a stroke in a lifetime. This is because Tran’s fat can block your arteries and can raise your bad cholesterol levels and lowering your good cholesterol levels.

3. Slash the salt -

You have to lessen the quantity of salt in taking to reduce the risk of heart diseases. Avoiding adding salt to your food is a good idea. But make sure you also check the food labels before buying or eating them.

4. Follow a Mediterranean-style diet -

Mediterranean-style diet can easily reduce the risk of heart attack. The diet includes fruit and vegetables, oily fish, such as sardines, and wholegrain cereals. One of the best-known monounsaturated fats such as olive oil can also be used

5. Practice Portion Control -

You need to control the portion of food you eat. Moreover, you can eat five times a day but the meals must be small and nutritious. This way your stomach will be full and you can maintain your health.
